The POZY Bear Collection celebrates the spirit of giving with the most universally recognized symbol of love, comfort and affection...the teddy bear. Artist David Miller pays tribute to the nostalgia of these "well-loved" friends with a collection of bears based on his original wood-carvings. Each figurine in The POZY Bear Collection heartwarmingly conveys quiet expressions of love and joy through the slight tilt of the bear's head, the playful interaction between friends or the simple, yet meaningful, symbols held in their paws. Each Pozy Bear is molded in resin from an original David Miller wood carving (with creases and dents sculpted in on purpose to replicate an old wood character) and jointed with a unique technique that allow the bears designed to sit or posed just like an old teddy bear that slumps and tilts after years of much love and affection.
From commemorating life's most special occasions and friendships, to offers of inspirations, gratitude and encouragement, share your spirit of giving with a gift from......The POZY Bear Collection
Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Western Maryland, David Miller learned at an early age to appreciate nature and found inspiration in the majestic views that surrounded the Miller's small wood frame home. It was also where he discovered, at a young age, his artistic talents and dreamed of one day pursuing this passion.
As the first in his family to graduate collect, David earned a degree in Fine Arts from Frostburg State University in 1987 and, upon graduation, accepted a position with Hobby House Press Publishing. It was there David was first introduced to the world of teddy bears through Teddy Bear and Friends' magazine. He quickly gained an appreciation not only for the craftsmanship and artistry of handcrafted teddy bears but for the rich history of sharing the gift of a teddy bear.
In 1999, David accepted the position of Vice President of Marketing and later Product Design for the The Boyds Collection Ltd, a leading designer and manufacturer of collectible teddy bears. While his career kept him busy, he continued to pursue his art and his dream of pursuing his passion full-time was always at the forefront of his mind.
With the encouragements of family and friends, he left Boyds' in pursuit of his dream and launched Bloomwood Originals'. Today, David continues to refine his hand-carved bears, still finding inspiration from the home he shares with his wife, Jennifer and their cat, Lucy.
